Uh oh, here comes trouble!

Liam isn't actually crawling yet but he is rolling all over the floor. His new favourite toy is the blinds in the kitchen. Last night he kept going over to them and pulling on the bottom.

As you can tell from his reaction he was really worried when I told him "No, no"!!

Leapin Lizards!

Niamh and Kian are playing T-Ball this summer. Their team is the Leapin Lizards! The first game was on Monday and they were great!

Scott took this gorgeous pic of Liam at the T-Ball game. He sat in his carseat and watched everything that was going on.

New Pics of the monsters!

We got home the other night after Ronan's birthday party and as Scott was getting Liam out of the carseat he dropped my camera on the floor and broke it! It was my new camera that I had just got for Christmas too! So, being the good husband that he is, he went and bought me a new one. I love it!! It takes awesome pics. I was playing around the other day and took some of the kids. I managed to get at least one good one of all of them. Those are on the side of my blog but there were some others I got that captured their personalities perfectly.

Liam pulls the funniest faces!

Ronan was playing peek-a-boo!

Kian wouldn't take his hand down from his face, he was posing!

All of Niamh's pics looked just like this, that's why there is only one of her. She wouldn't do anything else!

And this was the attempt at a pic of all 4 of them!

Ronan's 3rd Birthday.

Wow, I can't believe that my baby boy is 3! We had Ro's birthday party last night because Niamh had dress rehersal for her dance recital tonight. We had it at Pojo's playland and the kids had a blast! Thanks to all of our friends who came and had fun with us!! I made his birthday cake this year and the kids all loved it, Ro was more interested in taking the cars off the track than blowing the candles out!

I was laying in bed last night after the birthday party thinking about how quickly time goes by. It doesn't seem like 5 minutes since Ro was born and here he is getting ready to go to preschool in September!

The past few months since we found out about Ronan's sensory issues have been pretty exhausting and trying at times but I am so grateful for the privilage and blessing of being his Mam. There have been times lately when I have had a little pity party for myself. It is hard sometimes to see Ronan with other kids his age and notice how different he is. I have to admit that sometimes I wonder if I will ever hear him say "I love you" or do things like other kids his age.

Ronan is such a special boy and I am so blessed that Heavenly Father trusted me enough to allow me to be his Mother. He is so strong willed and I have to remind myself sometimes that he is such a valiant spirit who was saved especially for this time. He has a smile that lights up the whole room and is so loving and genuine . He is hard work at times and I can be so mad at him but the second he comes over and gives me a hug and a kiss it is all gone.

Thankyou Ronan, for being you! For teaching me how to be a better Mam and for always loving me, even when I make mistakes! I love you so much, you are a very special boy. xxxxx

Can you tell we didn't have naps??

Both of the boys fell asleep eating dinner! They looked so cute, even with food all over their faces!

Kian's Narnia Festival

Kian's preschool held a Narnia Festival at Edwards Cinema to celebrate the new Price Caspian movie coming out. They took pictures to send into Disney. The kids had to dress up as something from the movie and Kian wanted to be a Knight. He had to be there Monday morning at 9am and on Sunday night at 9pm I still had no idea what I was going to use for his costume. It turned out pretty cute though and Kian was excited. He had such a good time that he talked his Dad into taking him to see the film that afternoon. The kids loved it!

Mr Lee-man!

That is what Kian used to call Liam when he was born. He couldn't say Liam and however hard he tried it came out Lee-man. It kinda stuck and now when we are playing we call him Mr Lee-man. He was playing on the floor the other day and he looked so cute that I had to get a few pics of him.

He was quite happy until he noticed the camera and I wouldn't let him have it.....lol.

But look at that little face. Even though he is crying I love this pic, he looks soooo cute on it!

Niamh's Dance Pics

Niamh has her dance recital coming up at the end of May. On Saturday they did pictures at the dance studio, but she looked so pretty that I had to take a few of her before we left. I love her costume this year. She is going to be dancing to Shake, Rattle & Roll and Reflection (from Mulan).

What am I going to do when he is 15???

Yesterday I went to pick Kian up from preschool, his teacher was laughing so hard as she told me that Kian wouldn't play with Avery because she had "crazy hair" and she needed to tell her Mom to fix it!

On Saturday we stopped in Layton to eat at Sizzler. The waitress we had was about 19-20. She was really pretty and Kian wouldn't stop staring at her. He was actually turning around in his seat to look at her. He then turned to me and said, "Mom, that girl is soooo beautiful!" Argh, he is only 4, he's not supposed to like girls till he is a teenager!

Last night I went to Enrichment and Scott was in charge of dinner. This morning Kian and I had this conversation
Kian: "Dad fed us breakfast for dinner (he meant cereal) because him didn't want to cook in the kitchen because him's not a girl."
Me: "Excuse me!!! It's not just girls that can cook in the kitchen. Boys can cook too."
Kian: "No they can't, boys cook at Scottys and girls cook in the kitchen!"

I tried to let him know that it's not just girls that can cook in the kitchen but he wasn't having any of it. Looks like I need to make Scott cook a little more often!

What do you think???

I was bored yesterday afternoon so I decided to jazz up a mirror that we have hanging in our entryway.
Here's the finished product, I love the way it turned out! It was hard to get a picture of it though because the light was reflecting in the window, these are the best I could get.

Our trip to Utah

Last weekend was so much fun. Scott has been working so hard the past few months and we haven't been able to have a weekend away since before Liam was born. Scott's cousin was blessing his baby on Sunday in West Jordan so we decided that we would make a weekend of it. We drove down on Saturday morning and stopped in Layton for something to eat and to give the kids a little break. Then we continued down to Salt Lake and checked into our hotel. We stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott. It was a pretty nice hotel and the kids had a blast at the pool. We swam for almost 2 hours and we were the only ones in there, it was awesome. Ronan has absolutely no fear. He loved to run and jump right into the deep end and we would not let Scott or I hold him. We had to make sure he was wearing his floaties all the time, he kept trying to take them off and jump in :( That boy is going to have me grey before I reach 30!
Kian loves swimming this time, last time he was afraid to move off the stairs ;) Niamh loves swimming and guess what, she even beat Scott in a race this time ;P

The only thing that spoiled our trip was the people in the room next door. They decided to have a party......until 4am!!! They were soooo loud it was crazy. We called down to the front desk and complained 4 times, finally at 4am they called security and asked them to leave.
Well you can probably imagine that very drunk people + security + 4am = a not very good situation. Yes the police did have to be called and we heard that there was over $600 worth of damage to the room.
So....my question is this, How do we always end up stuck beside these idiots? Out of all of the rooms in the whole hotel they ended up my us.....argh!!!
The rest of the weekend was great though. We went to the blessing on Sunday and then back to Jeff and Carrie's house for a luncheon. The kids had a great time playing with their cousins, they don't get to see them very often!

As much as I loved getting away for the weekend, I have to admit that on Sunday night it was great to be home and back in my own bed!

Kian-isms

That is what my Mam and I decided to call the funny little stories and saying that Kian comes out with. The other day we had a great one.
We had been in to the Drive In and when we were leaving Kian wouldn't put his seat belt on. I put the truck in park and said "That's it, we are not going any further until you put your seatbelt on."
Kian's immediate response was "No, no Mom, I want to go to any further! Do they have toys there?"
Poor boy still doesn't know where "any further" is. I couldn't stop laughing long enough to tell him.

Reverse Psychology???

So, all of you who know Kian, know how "opinionated" and "challenging" he can be at times.....lol. Well this past week I decided to try a different approach with him. Instead of reacting to his fits I decided to counter-act them with kindness.

My first opportunity came when I wouldn't let him have fruit snacks. Trivial I know, but not to Kian. He was throwing a really good fit and then decided to tell me that he hated me. That is usually how he gets me to react. He says "I hate you", I get mad and yell and then the fit starts. He knows exactly which buttons to push.
Well I was on the phone to my Mam so he kept walking by me and whispering (in a loud voice...lol) "I hate you!" Rather than getting mad at him I turned around and said "Kian, I love you!" He stopped, turned and looked at me and with huge eyes and a very shocked look on his face said "You do?" I told him of course I did and that he is my special boy. He came over, kissed me and said he loved me too. Guess what, that was the end of the fit, no more attitude or tantrums. Kian 0, Mam 1!

Well I was wondering if it was just a fluke so move on to yesterday. Kian and Ronan start fighting over a car. Kian is just about to throw a fit, I can feel it coming on! I said "Kian, come here a minute". Now just picture in your head, Kian with a mean grouchy face, stomping his way over to me ready to throw a fit and tell me all about Ro taking his car and how mean of a Mom I am. When he got to me I put my arm around him and told him how proud I was that I he was such a good boy to share with his brother and that I was very proud of him. I told him I was so glad that Heavenly Father sent him to be my big helper. Guess what, yep you guessed it, NO FIT!!! It worked, he was so pleased that I was proud of him that he forgot to throw a fit. So the score is now Kian 0, Mam 2.

It is amazing how much difference it makes to him to be told that he is a good boy and how proud I am of him. I feel like such a bad Mam for taking soooo long to figure this out! I am definately going to have to keep working on not yelling, somedays I am sure that my neighbours are going to call CPS on me, but at last I have found something that works. I'll keep you posted on how things go!

Happy Birthday Scott!

My handsome hubby turned 29 today, wow we are getting old. I felt bad that he had to work but he was such a trooper and didn't complain at all. We did get to go out and have a really nice dinner though. We went to Stockman's restaurant. It used to be The Loft reception center. The food was awesome and the prices are really good, if you live in I.F. you have to try it. It was so nice to have a night out without the kids, well we took Liam but he was such a good boy and slept through most of dinner.

Anyway Scott if you read this, I just want to let you know how much I love you. You are amazing and the kids and I are so lucky to have you! Thanks for all you do for us. I hope you had a good day babe, you deserve it!!! xxx

Priceless!!

My kids, especially Kian, have been coming out with the funniest things lately. Scott told me that I should write them down so I thought I would just share them with you all.

It is a good thing that he is sooo cute, you'll see why after the next few conversations!

The other day Kian was asking for a baby sister, this was the conversation.

Kian: "Mom, can we get a baby girl?"
Me: "No son, there's no more babies in our house."
Kian: "But Mom!!!! I want a sister!"
Niamh: "KIAN, THERE ARE NO MORE BABIES, MOM HAD HER BOOBS TIED!!

Yes she was yelling and I was cracking up laughing. Obviously she has been listening in on her share of adult conversations and only caught half of it!

One night last week Scott was playing Madden on the PS3. Kian came in the room and started "headbanging" to the music.

Scott: "Kian, what are you doing?"
Kian: "Nothing Dad, my brain is just dancing."

We had just finished eating dinner and Scott felt like he had eaten too much.

Scott: "I'm so fat!"
Kian: "Your not fat Dad, Mom is!"
Scott (while laughing): "Kian your Mom is not fat"
Me: " Kian, am I fat?"
Kian: "No, actually yes! But it's ok Mom, I love ya!"

So this is my motivation to start my diet that I have been waiting for! I finally realised the other day that I have to stop using the excuse that I just had a baby because I didn't. He is 7 months old now! I have no idea where the time has gone!

It finally looks cute!

So.....I finally figured out how to do a cute layout. I really am "challenged" when it comes to doing stuff on the computer! Anyway, I wanted something cute but since I have 3 boys I decided it probably shouldn't be too girly, so I think this fits perfectly. It's blue and if you ask Niamh blue is for boys and pink is for girls so I figured it should keep everyone happy ;-)

Time to get organised

I guess it is about time for me to try and work out this whole blogging thing and keep everyone updated. All of my friends have blogs and I love reading them but I think I am just too lazy! I keep trying to make excuses but I have finally run out so here goes...I'll try and keep it up to date.
